LFA Flag Football Transition

When Lou Fusz Athletic expanded in 2018 to offer tackle football, the club began with the same principles of Respect / Hard Work / Enjoyment / Excellence / Progress that help guide the club’s vision. Lou Fusz Athletic strives to provide a first-class youth development experience for every player and family associated with the Club. For a number of years, the club has paved the way to find the best chance to be the most valuable piece to the football community as possible, and after this year it became apparent that a change was necessary to fulfill that mission.

In order to provide the most effective product to the highest number of athletes, Lou Fusz Football is moving away from youth tackle football starting this year. A transition from our tackle football teams to flag football leagues and position specific player development is in motion for the 2023-2024 season. Lou Fusz Athletic wants to complement the football community and help build players for the community as a whole.

A New Development Model

Within this transition, offerings will include NFL & In-House Flag Football Leagues, running at our 100-yard Indoor Turf Training Center in Earth City or at our expanding turf field Complex in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Local, regional, national opportunities for both boys and girls will exist within our Flag programs. Girl’s High School Varsity Flag Football is state sanctioned in more and more states across the US (California, New York, etc.), with NAIA colleges providing athletic scholarships to play on their varsity women’s flag football teams.

Position specific development will also take a football player through development of the proper mechanics of the game in throwing, catching, footwork, and overall athletic movements. Each athlete will progress and earn their next step from Little Lou’s all the way through to collegiate athletes utilizing our NFL caliber facilities and CSCS certified SAQ trainers and coaching staff.

Football is evolving in this country, and Lou Fusz Athletic strives to provide the most amount of support to the community as possible. Making the Lou Fusz Athletic facilities as accessible as possible has always been the goal, and this transition allows the club to achieve that. The new player development model allows Lou Fusz Athletic to equip the next generation of football players across the Metro STL area and beyond. The future looks bright, and Lou Fusz Football is excited about the next chapter!
